Through working collectively with the Environmental Department, we established rehabilitation objectives, targets and success criteria. With this information we were able to optimise the design and develop a detailed mass haul, subsequently, decreasing construction duration and cost.
Overall, we reduced the cut to fill reshaping required and increasing the productivity of the construction fleet while
expanding the landform surface area of the mine rehabilitation.
Key Results;
- Topsoil strip and stockpile for mine pit expansion
(250,000m3) - Progressive rehabilitation of spoil dump
- 650,000m3 cut to fill dozer push
- 90 Hectares mine land rehabilitation
- 180,000m3 topsoil placement
- Topsoil strip and stockpile for new levee construction
(180,000m3) - 90 Hectares of hydroseeding
