Executive Team
David Alexanderson
Managing Director
David is an accomplished businessman with over 35 years of extensive experience in the civil contracting industry both in Australia and Internationally. David oversees all operations and guides the direction of the company. Through his leadership AE Group has become a construction company that provides enhanced planning, construction control and accountability. David is experienced in bulk earthworks, dam construction, highways and roads construction, civil and drainage works, residential and commercial subdivisions.
James Malcolm
Construction Manager
A seasoned Professional Engineer of over 45 years, James has been instrumental in the development and growth of the company since coming aboard in 2008. His strengths lie in project leadership and management; strategic business development and planning. As Construction Manager, James has overseen most of our major projects comprising infrastructure, road works, structures, bridges, bulk earthworks, reclamation and mining.
Rod May
Plant Manager
A fully qualified Diesel Mechanic with extensive experience in the servicing and maintenance of a diverse range of heavy earthmoving equipment, Rod leads our team of internal fitters to ensure our fleet runs efficiently. Servicing and maintenance of our plant is performed either at AE’s maintenance facility in Yatala, or mobile workshops located at our project sites. All servicing and maintenance procedures adhere to our strict QA, Safety and Environmental controls, and are recorded through our bespoke computerised Resource Tracking and Service Record integrated system.
Tim Haikmoller
Contracts Delivery Manager
As Contracts Delivery Manager, Tim oversees the planning and execution of our diverse infrastructure and mining projects, ensuring strict adherence to service, financial, and safety standards. With an impressive track record of over 10 years in construction. His exceptional management skills shine through in meticulous cost budget oversight, proactive identification and resolution of operational risks, and dedicated collaboration with key stakeholders to foster engagement. A hands-on leader, Tim approaches challenges with a commitment to 'win-win' outcomes, cultivating successful, enduring relationships. From project inception to completion, he meticulously accounts for every detail, emphasising an unwavering dedication to an engaging safety culture. Since joining AE Group in 2020, Tim's impactful contribution has consistently delivered outstanding results across a spectrum of complex projects.
Lorraine Hohns
Office Manager
Lorraine supports the company operations by maintaining the office systems and supervising our highly skilled administrative team. She excels in organizing, prioritising and delegating tasks effectively to ensure that all administrative work is managed competently, and in accordance with the companies changing priorities and deadlines.

It takes real teamwork to provide the standard of construction and flawless project management that is the hallmark of AE Group Civil & Mining. We have a core team of supervisors who have worked together for many years providing seamless project management of civil and mining infrastructure; and bulk earthworks ranging from large dam construction, levees, creek diversions, mine rehabilitation, road works and motorways.
Our team of Supervisors share the vision, values, commitment and pride that make up our growing organisation. Each and every one chosen for their ability to contribute significantly to the reputation of our company and the satisfaction of our customers.
AE Group Supervisors are a product of our in-house training and development programs, having worked their way up from operators, to leading hands, foreman and now as site supervisors at our projects. All are skilled in the operation of major earthmoving equipment and hold Statutory Mining Supervisor accreditation.
